Church Faith Nurturing Activities
Join us for worship Sunday mornings at 10am!
After a break due to COVID-19, practices have resumed on Wednesday nights at 6:15pm.
They sing four part harmonies and a nice mixture of musical styles. They perform on Sunday mornings September through May, with special performances at Easter and Christmas.
We have a four octave set of handbells and a 2 octave set of chimes here at St. John. Practices will begin for the year in late September!
CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
Every Sunday at the 10am worship there is a special children's chat where kids are invited up front and then released for children's church.
SPECIAL WORSHIP SERVICES
Special Worship Services throughout the year include: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunrise, Blessing of the Pets, Thursday Night Lenten Worship, Toten Fest, Blue Christmas and Christmas Eve Candlelight.
Stay tuned for updates on dates and times!
"FEED MY SHEEP"
A grocery distribution ministry held every Thursday from 4:30-5:30pm. Donation of non-perishables and other needed items (no clothing, please) can be made throughout the year. Volunteers are needed to pick up donated bread, cupcakes, fresh fruits and veggies, etc. and also on Thursdays throughout the day to package donated goods. If you would like to get involved in this 20+ year ministry outreach, please contact Susie Koehler - email@example.com.
Your donations of laundry detergent pods, dryer sheets, quart sized baggies, hard candy and quarters help make a difference to those in our community who need a clean set of clothes.
Pax is Latin for 'peace' and those brown lunch bags full of nutritious snacks and a bottle of water, along with a printed prayer and invitation to worship, are ideal for our members to hand out to someone in need that they see while driving around our city.
St. John UCC recycles paper, aluminum cans and plastic water bottles. Bring in your pop can tabs and your empty pill bottles as we collect these for Ronald McDonald House and Matthew 25 Ministries.
Each year, members of St. John have an opportunity to go on one, multi-day trip as well as many local one-day mission opportunities.
LITTLE FREE LIBRARY
In 2017, we added a custom built Little Free Library in our courtyard.
For several decades, every Summer, St. John members have a Rummage Sale for the community and the congregation.
FAITH NURTURING ACTIVITIES
Every Tuesday at 1pm and 6:30pm we offer an interactive, lectionary based Bible Study to prepare members for next Sunday's worship.
GROWING OUR FAITH
Sunday mornings, in worship, after the children's chat, kids are taken out for faith formation.
St. John offers a family retreat in the winter and a women's retreat in the fall.
Fellowship Events include: Annual Bus Trip, Monthly Lunch Bunches, Christmas Extravaganza, and Monthly Gatherings for all members of the congregation.
